For those of you who are keeping up with The Vampire Diaries and all the crazy supernatural shenanigans in Mystic Falls, you know things are heating up. Both romantically and chaotically.
In the most recent episode we saw Klaus’s mother, the Original Witch who created vampires, break free from that mysterious coffin (courtesy of the witchy powers of Bonnie and her Mama), as well the return of Klaus’s entire family. Oh, snap!
I’m very excited to see what happens now that the Original Witch is back . . . there’s a new boss in town. And I have a feeling we’re not going to want to mess with her. I loved the moment last week when she returns to Klaus. The interaction they had was quite memorable, and goes to show us what a truly powerful force this Original Witch is going to have.
“Do you know why I am here?” says Klaus’s mother.
He nods. “To kill me, mother.”
“You are my son. I’m here to forgive you.”
Oh, boy. Chills, right? Only a badass villain would say something like that. People think villains/the antagonist always have to wield fire and tempers . . . but some of the best villains (especially those on supernatural dramas), are the ones who play to other’s sympathies. How do you all think this particular story line is going to pan out? What kind of influence do you think this witch is going to have over Mystic Falls? Over the vampires? Over Elena? The Salvatore brothers? One thing we all know: vampires shouldn’t mess around with witches.
Next week on the show, the Originals are planning a ball. Yep, a glam party. And we’re all cordially invited. The episode is called “Dangerous Liaisons,” and things will definitely get heated.
Episode Synopsis:
SOME ENCHANTED EVENING – Elena is surprised to receive an invitation to a formal ball, and when Damon and Stefan hear the party is being hosted at Klaus’s newly renovated mansion, they both insist on attending the event with her. Caroline and Matt also receive invitations to the ball from unexpected admirers. At the elegant party, Elena learns of a horrifying plan that could lead to numerous deaths and she must decide who she can trust wither her new information. Caroline discovers a side of Klaus no one would have suspected. Finally, after an evening of violence and dashed hopes, Damon finds a new way to cope.
